Are you an avid Christmas lighting fan or just want to be the best on your street? Read on for my tips on how to have the best outdoor Christmas lights for your garden décor this year.
Start early. This is the most important step. The most successful displays on your street have been planned for over a year, probably planning for next year will begin when this year’s lights have been turned on. Here are a number of perks to this, you have time to reflect on your design and make the most of any off-season purchases. Plan, think and plan some more! Choose your topic; plan your design on paper. Think about the colors and types best led solar christmas lights of lighting you will use. Do you encourage Christmas lighting if so, where? Will you need additional power outlets? Do you use light bulbs (C7 or C9), LED or solar lighting? Everyone has an advantage. Calculate the number of games you need. This can be affected by the number of lights (and thus the length of the string) in each set. Also note that the length of the lights is not the same as the total length of the set. Do you need additional power cables? Now is the time to figure it out. Decide if you need additional outlets and have a qualified electrician install them. If the outlets must be under the eaves of the roof, consider installing a switch somewhere convenient. Make sure all outdoor plugs and extension cords are waterproof. Acquire your sets of lights; Make sure outdoor light kits are rated for outdoor use. Make sure you have enough replacement bulbs of the correct type (if you use C7 or C9 incandescents, LEDs have a very long lifespan). Before installing your lighting, test all assemblies. Better to find faults while sets are on the ground. Before installing the outdoor holiday lights, check any fasteners you have that may need to be replaced. Make sure you have the fixings you need to attach the lighting, such as screws, nails, clips, or a staple machine. Make sure all cables on the ground are secure (i.e. not placed in water). Plan to turn on your lights early in the season when it’s not that cold or crowded. This also gives you time to make any necessary adjustments. Make sure you have the proper tools on hand, including a helper to hold the ladder. Turn on your lights. And enjoy.
